Synopsis: Doctor Andreas Marino loves his quiet life, filled with work and simple amusements, and when the strange Miss Abbott arrives in his town he decides he doesn’t like her at all. Unfortunately, she’s funny and quirky, has an uncommon past and seems to enjoy getting him in trouble. Welcome to a sketchy Victorian rom-com!

Episodes: 173

Status: Completed

Rating: 9.81

Reasons To Read: This is one of my all-time favourite historical fiction romances on webtoon.

This wholesome webtoon has been on the app for a long time and is loved by many today. If you liked watching Bridgerton or have read the books, this historical romance will remind you of it.

As for the romance, it is such a funny yet interesting read. Andreas is a doctor while Cati is an illiterate brought into society by Ms. Kira Aquila-Salazar, an anthropologist.

It is beautifully portrayed how these opposites can end up falling in love with each other – they care for each other so deeply.

The art style is very unique – the author sketches every piece by hand. Although this webtoon is not colourful, it has coloured the lives of many readers.

This is proof that a good story line, relatable characters and a heart-warming romance can win the hearts of many.

Note: This webtoon is one of the daily pass series. Which means that you can binge read the first 20 episodes in one day. After that, you can only unlock one chapter per day with a “daily pass” and if you want to unlock more, it will cost 3 coins.

Read this post to learn more on how to get more coins and how to unlock daily pass episodes.

Episodes: 92 (as of date)

Status: On-going

Rating: 9.87

Reasons To Read: First of this is classified as a fantasy webtoon romance, but I do feel it has some historical setting to it. It can be a two-in-one – historical fantasy romance.

This korean webtoon romance originated from a korean novel written by Jaehon Hwanghu. This webtoon is also said to be made into a drama soon but details aren’t really available yet.

Becareful reading this Webtoon, some have reported that it has MESSED UP their sleep schedule as they were hooked to the drama and romance!

Readers really stress about the drama in this Webtoon, so if you really like a romance with lots of twists and turns plus a juicy plot – this might be for you.

Naver, the empress is loved by many readers because of her strong personality.

3. The First Night With The Duke

best romance webtoons
Image from Webtoon’s Pinterest

Synopsis: A handsome, selfish noble falls for a beautiful, kind commoner — at least, that’s how the story’s supposed to go. When an average college student wakes up as Ripley, an extra in her favorite romance novel, she resolves to enjoy the luxuries of her character’s status while watching the novel’s plot unfold from the sidelines. However, her plans are soon derailed when she finds herself in bed with no other than Duke Zeronis, the novel’s hero! Dodging the villainess’ schemes, the Duke’s advances, and her own feelings, can Ripley keep the story on track and survive beyond the first night?

Episodes: 73 (as of date)

Status: On-going

Rating: 9.62

Reasons To Read: Forget about reading a romance novel, this Webtoon will make you feel like you’re part of one!

The main character LITERALLY dives into her fave romance novel and has a one-night-stand sort of situation with a very handsome duke.

Sounds like a dream.

But for some readers, it made them feel uncomfortable as they are not okay with the duke being forceful in some chapters.

Some say that it’s just not acceptable to sleep with someone drunk as they under the influence of substances and that can affect their decision making.

Romcom webtoons like The First Night With The Duke to explore – His Majesty’s Proposal.

4. My Dear Cold Blooded King

best romance webtoons
Image from Webtoon’s Pinterest

But, one fateful day would change the course of her life, when faced with a deadly challenge against dangerous royal assassins. Now, with the eyes of the dreaded Blood King upon her, her life of simplicity would now become a tangled web of secrecy, deceit, and desire.

Episodes: 170 (Daily Pass Series)

Status: Completed

Rating: 9.7

Reasons To Read: This completed Webtoon romance is one of my favourites on the app.

There’s a love triangle between Mei, Katsu and Ryusaki. I don’t want to spoil it further, but let’s just say that this is more than just a romance.

There’s a lot of plot twists and it has some political elements to it.

This is one of the most spiciest Webtoons I’ve ever read. It will not disappoint. This steamy webtoon definitely leans more to adult fiction and not YA fiction.

The art just makes the whole story, romance and spicy scenes all better. Breath-taking in my opinion!

If you’re looking for a romance Webtoon with a strong female lead, this is the one for you.

The author did a great job with Kihara Mei’s character growth.

5. Blood Reverie

Best Romance Webtoons

Synopsis: Cassia works a Dead-End job, lives in a cramped apartment, and can’t remember her own last name. Good thing she has a sexy vampire boyfriend who lives in her dreams- if only he were real, then maybe life wouldn’t suck so bad.

Episodes: 50 (as of date)

Status: On-going

Rating: 9.3

Reasons To Read: Can’t get enough of My Cold Blooded King? Well you’re in luck, the artist has recently launched a new vampire romance webtoon and this one has lots of steam in it!

This supernatural webtoon romance has the amnesia trope. Cassia has lost her memory and now works as a janitor.

She thinks she is having hallucinations, but how is it that her dreams teleport her to a whole new world where a King vampire with silky grey hair who calls her “mistress” seems so real?

If you’re looking for a fantasy romance webtoon with lots of plot twists, this one is for you.

6. Lore Olympus

best romance webtoons
Image from Webtoon’s Pinterest

Synopsis: Witness what the gods do…after dark. The friendships and the lies, the gossip and the wild parties, and of course, forbidden love. Because it turns out, the gods aren’t so different from us after all, especially when it comes to their problems. Stylish and immersive, this is one of mythology’s greatest stories — The Taking of Persephone — as it’s never been told before.

Episodes: 190 (as of date)

Status: On-going

Rating: 9.71

Reasons To Read: If you’re a fan of Greek mythology, you should totally read this Webtoon – especially if you’re a fan of the Hades and Persephone retelling!

Besides, this is also one of the best romance webtoons with good art. Art so good that it recently got developed into a graphic novel with multiple volumes!

Checkout Lore Olympus graphic novel on Book Depository and Amazon!

The shades of blue and pink are widely used throughout this comic to represent the worlds of Hades and Persephone (a.k.a Kore/Goddess of Spring).

Lore Olympus discusses some heavy themes such as toxic relationships and more – these are some trigger warnings to take note of.

With a modern twist, this retelling becomes relatable and a favourite to many.

7. Siren’s Lament

best romance webtoons
Image from Webtoon’s Pinterest

Synopsis: Content with her ordinary life, Lyra is somewhat of a wallflower. However, her comfortable lifestyle suddenly goes astray when she accidentally plunges into the world of sirens. Entangled in a curse, Lyra will learn that her world may be a lot bigger than she had ever imagined.

Episodes:

Status: Completed

Rating: 9.75

Reasons To Read: This webtoon is famous for its music! If you like siren related mythologies, you’ll enjoy this one.

The mystery in this webtoon keeps readers wanting more. Lyra in her quest to learn more about the mysterious creator of all the sirens, known simply as “the Poseidon” and it’s curse that turns humans into sirens.

I swear, this plot makes you addicted. I’ve spent a lot of coins on this Webtoon. Luckily, it is now a completed webtoon fantasy romance for you to enjoy.

(spoiler ahead, skip please)

If you’re looking for a romance webtoon without a love triangle, try this webtoon.

However some readers speculate that there’s a love triangle between Lyra, Shon and Ian. I don’t believe that to be true.

It was never fully made clear in the Webtoon if Ian liked Lyra.

8. Subzero

best romance webtoons
Image from Webtoon’s Pinterest

Synopsis: What would you sacrifice to save your family? How far would you go to protect your people? For Clove, the last princess of a near-extinct Dragon clan, the answer is the unthinkable: MARRY your greatest sworn enemy in an effort to bring peace to your land.

Episodes: 123 (as of date)

Status: On-going

Rating: 9.79

Reasons To Read: This is my current read, my favourite from this best romance webtoon list!

If you enjoy the enemies to lovers trope, you’ll really like this Webtoon. Clove and Kyro get married to end the war among their dragon clans.

Also, Kyro is dreamy! Readers love him.

We all stan a super attractive fictional 2D men in a romance webtoon that is a possessive male lead. Am I not correct?

Romance scenes between Clove and Kyro are swoon-worthy.

Besides a very attractive possessive male lead, the plot is political heavy. There’s war and blood-shed (trigger warning).

9. The Wrath & Dawn

best romance webtoons
Image from Webtoon’s Pinterest

Synopsis: Khalid, the Caliph, takes a new bride each night only to have her executed at sunrise. So it is a suspicious surprise when Shahrzad volunteers to marry Khalid. However, Shahrzad has a clever plan – not only to stay alive – but to end the murderous King’s reign of terror once and for all. (A reimagining of 1001 Nights based on the YA novel by Renee Ahdieh.)

Episodes: 107 (as of date)

Status: On-going

Rating: 9.48

Reasons To Read: This webtoon is based on a book with the same name as the Webtoon, written by Renee Ahdieh.

This webtoon is also said to be an Arabian Nights Retelling.

Dreamily romantic, deliciously angst-y, addictively thrilling – is what readers described the book as. I can only hope the same and maybe MORE for the webtoon since the art is said to be bold and captivating

10. Eaternal Nocturnal

best romance webtoons
Image from Webtoon’s Pinterest

Synopsis: The man of her dreams does exist… too bad she can’t fall asleep. When Eve is visited one night by a mysterious apparition, she finds that her chronic insomnia is miraculously cured. Meanwhile Dae, the dream eater, finds himself unexpectedly and unwillingly drawn to Eve. This can either be a dream come true or their worst nightmare.

Episodes: 13 (as of date)

Status: On-going

Rating: 9.82

Reasons To Read: If you’re a fan of Siren’s Lament, be sure to check this Webtoon out as it is written and illustrated by the same author!

Readers wanted more of the author’s work after Siren’s Lament came to an end. Especially because the art is alone enough reason to read her Webtoon.

The plot is truly unique, I don’t see many fantasy romance webtoons based on a creature that eats dreams at night and lives a normal life during the day.

This webtoon is a very new on-going webtoon romance. It only has about 13 chapters as of date, so far it is off to a promising start with attractive characters and good humour too!

11. Let’s Play

best romance webtoons
Image from Webtoon’s Pinterest

Synopsis: She’s young, single and about to achieve her dream of creating incredible videogames. But then life throws her a one-two punch: a popular streamer gives her first game a scathing review. Even worse she finds out that same troublesome critic is now her new neighbor!

Episodes: 153

Status: On–going

Rating: 9.60

Reasons To Read: Now, I know the synopsis gives you an impression of a romance going on between a game developer and a game reviewer, but there’s an office romance going on in this Webtoon between Sam and Charles (her manager).

Sam is also working in her father’s company which makes this romance more interesting.

There are episodes where Sam and her friends dive into a videogame with their avatars and that can get pretty interesting for some readers.

This is also a steamy Webtoon series to indulge in. There also might be a love triangle between Ben, Sam and Charles.

12. Age Matters

best romance webtoons
Image from Webtoon’s Pinterest

Synopsis: She’s a hopeless romantic who’s turning 30 – and is not super happy about it. He’s a reclusive billionaire who’s hired her to be his assistant – and he’s not too happy about that either. Together they rewrite the rules of friendship, love, work and the BEST way to clean someone’s apartment.

Episodes: 153

Status: Completed

Rating: 9.79

Reasons To Read: You know how daily passes can be really annoying on Webtoons because you can’t binge read?

This is a completed webtoon without daily pass! You can enjoy all 153 episodes in one-sitting if you’d like to.

This webtoon office romance is quite unique compared to most romance webtoons because the main female love interest is older than the main male love interest.

Age Matters is definitely a slow burn romance Webtoon – some might find this frustrating.

Also, the male lead is a 21-year-old billionaire while the female lead is 30 and close to nothing. In a way she takes care of him while he is too busy being the CEO of the company.

While this dynamic can interest some people, it can be off putting as well.

13. Secretary Out-Of-Order

best romance webtoons

Synopsis: Yu-eun Gam, a very capable secretary, works at IREN under the relentless CEO, Dohyeok Chae. Full of hope for her future, she hands in a letter of resignation only to be rejected.

Episodes: 5 (as of date)

Status: On-going

Rating: 8.74

Reasons To Read: This is a brand new Webtoon romance recommendation. There’s only 5 chapters so far but it has made it to the top 10 new and trending Webtoons list.

Besides that, this is a korean Webtoon romance that have been translated to multiple languages – English, Chinese, Thai and Indonesian.

So far there’s not much we can say from 5 chapters of this Webtoon, but many readers seem to already like it.

At first sight, some readers mistaken it for “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?” – a popular manga but not on the Webtoon app. This Webtoon is definitely not similar when compared to that.

Some readers are generally tired of the bad-boss-with-a-handsome-face-and-loaded-bank-account-falls-in-love-with-secretary trope. I guess this Webtoon might not be for everyone.

14. True Beauty

best webtoon romance
Image from Webtoon’s Pinterest

This is a cute, feel-good romance webtoon to read!

16. Orange Marmalade

best romance webtoons

Episodes: 119 (Daily Pass Series)

Status: Completed

Rating: 9.67

Reasons To Read: Although this is a fantasy webtoon romance, it is in a high school setting.

Some readers enjoy it even though it is said to be cliche – a typical vampire romance where vampires are feared and hide their true selves among society. More details on this prejudice here.

This Korean webtoon was also turned into a drama.

17. Edith

Synopsis: Edith is not your typical heroine. She struggles with her confidence, her morals, and life in general by not only holding herself to high standards, but her men as well. Enter two less-than-perfect men: one who may be the Prince Charming she’s been waiting for to deliver a fairy tale ending, the other a brash reality check who does NOT believe in happily-ever-after. Edith has also one of the most popular webtoons on the app and has been on the app since the early days of Webtoon.

Phillip, the “pretty boy” in this webcomic is a model. Many readers say he looks like Harry Styles because of his hair and fashion sense.

Together, these two go through some sort of friends with benefits relationship which may or may not bloom into something more than that.

This best spicy webtoon is definitely worth a read.

I hope this list of best romance Webtoons help you find your next romance to binge read! If you have any more suggestions, let me know in the comments.

18. Reunion

Synopsis: After moving away for a decade, Rhea returns to the bustling city on her quest for independence. Things are looking bleak, until she bumps into a familiar face – one she didn’t think she would ever see again. Feelings rekindle as secrets begin to unfold, Rhea soon realizes her childhood friend may not be who she believes him to be, and thus her most cherished relationship is put to the test.

Episodes: 26

Status: Completed

Rating: 9.72

I first stumbled upon this Webtoon because of the art. Not only is the art stunning, so are the main leads Rhea and Shiro.

The two of them know each other from school and are part of the childhood friends to lovers trope.

When old childhood friends reunite, how will their relationship develop? You’ll have to read to find out. This is also a mafia romance!

Despite it being a fairly short romance webtoon to read, it was a very wholesome one to read!
