In this guide, you’ll find Colleen Hoover’s Reminders of Him book club questions, a summary, favorite quotes and my top 3 recommended similar reads that will aid your book club discussion.
Reminders of Him is Colleen Hoover’s 2022 standalone romance. This book received mixed reviews. I myself did not really enjoy it. Some readers (including myself) said it was underwhelming compared to other CoHo books that are tear-jerkers and heart-wrenchers.
On the contrary, many romance readers loved this book as it was heart-breaking, just like other Colleen Hoover books. You feel every emotion and pain the characters go through, especially the inner conflict that torments them.

Reminders of Him Summary
Kenna Rowen serves 5 years in jail as she was responsible for the death of her boyfriend, Scotty.
While Kenna was in prison, she also discovered she was pregnant with Scotty’s child. She carried his child and gave birth to a baby girl name Diem – which she named after the word “carpe diem” as tribute to the tragedy that fell upon her and Scotty.
However, the custody of the child goes to Scotty’s parents. After her time serving in jail is up, she returns back to the town where the tragedy happened, hoping to be reunited with her daughter.
She knows that this is going to be a challenge as the world sees her unfit to be a mother, especially Scotty’s parents who are in deep pain after losing their son because of her.
As soon as she’s out of jail, she meets Ledger who owns a bar. The two hit it off right away and are intimate with one another, until she finds out who Ledger really is – Scotty’s bestfriend.
With due time, Ledger discovers who Kenna really is and this complicates things.
