Spring Reading Challenge for Adults

Easily overwhelmed by reading challenges? This reading challenge will do the exact opposite!

This Spring reading challenge for adults is really easy because of its low commitment. One theme a month, one book a month.

Most of us adults have busy schedules, piling TBRs, family and friend commitments. This challenge will be super easy to fit into your hectic daily routine.

The books for this challenge does not have to be set in Spring, it just has to be relevant to the spring theme set every month. I have a post on books to read in Spring season to help you pick out some books!

March

Spring reading challenge theme for the month of March – a book with a plant or flower in the title.

Even if the book mentions the word “flower” or “plant”, it fits the challenge for this month.

They don’t have to be set in Spring (like I said, this challenge is fairly easy for busy adults who want to start reading again or anyone that’s overwhelmed with reading challenges)

My choice of book: The Wallflower Wager by Tessa Dare (Girl Meets Duke #3)

It has the word “flower”,involves wounded pets and farm animals, sounds like a great spring read to me!

Here are some other book recommendations for this month’s theme:

April

Spring reading challenge theme for the month of April – a book with a green cover.

Green is definitely the colour of spring. To ease into the season, it would be great to pick up a book with a green cover to set the tone of the season of life and new beginnings.

My choice of book: The Easy Life in Kamusari by Shion Miura (Translated by Juliet Winters Carpenter)

I chose this book not only because of it’s green cover and flowers on it but also its title.

“An easy life” somewhere in nature, set in Japan sounds like the perfect spring read to me although the book may not be set during the Spring season.

Here are some other book recommendations for this month’s theme:

May

Spring reading challenge theme for the month of May – a book set in a countryside.

It can be any countryside in any part of the world and not necessarily be set in Spring season.

The countryside seemed like the perfect theme for the last month of this challenge.

Moving into summer the books in this theme should give you the feel of nature, the sun, small villages, lushes greens and hope for a new beginning.

My choice of book: Song of the Sacred Mountain by William James

This book is set in Indonesia. It’s scene is a small village with a nearby mountain. The people of that area have strong spiritual believes and are not as open to modern technology.

There’s also a budding romance between foreigner and a local girl who has a very strong bond with her father. Seems like the perfect cozy spring read!
